Kitchens
Do you have a group that would like to sponsor one of our meals?
Currently, we have several opportunities available at the
Over-The-Rhine Kitchen and the Walnut Hills Kitchen.
Responsibilities would include: obtaining food for the meal; preparation of the meal and proper set up and clean up of the facility. You will be serving approximately 150 individuals. Hours of operation will depend on the day and designated meal time. Our Kitchens are fully functional; equipped with a double oven, a ten burner stove, and all the necessary pots, pans, and utensils required for large scale cooking.
A meal includes a meat or casserole, starch, vegetable and/or salad, bread, dessert and a beverage.
We provide all dishwashing soap, trash bags, and plastic food handling gloves, and floor cleaner with mops and buckets. Each group provides all their own linens, (dishrags and towels), and paper products in which to serve the meal which includes plates, napkins, cups, and plastic dinnerware. A 100-cup coffee pot and two 5-gallon cold containers are provided on site; one is used for water and the other is used for a beverage.
A Blessing of "Thanks" may be expressed prior to serving the food; however, preaching or any other type of activity is not permitted.
Please feel free to visit our Kitchens and help with a meal before you decide to commit to service.
PantryWe also have volunteer opportunities in our Walnut Hills Pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Activities include bagging groceries for distribution, stocking the pantry shelves and passing out the grocery bags to the guests. This would be a great family event and a team building experience.
